Carriage Returns in Project Description

Message I am using the Project Admin to add some information to the Project Home page below the Bitmap image.
When I enter the text in the Description field, as I wish to see it on the Project Home page, it does not recognize the carriage returns. I have not found any syntax that works for a carriage return. is this possible?
