Who is the user who need what permissions exactly? Do you mean the collabnet service _HAVE_ to be launched by a user whit 'read only' permission on report processes? Or something like that? Hi, I have accidentally given entered caps in a username and even after deleting TeamForge won't let me create another user with lowercase. I am assuming because some part of the code is case-sensitive to usernames and some is not. I was wondering if it would be ok to overwrite the username in database sfuser table to lowercase for that particular user. In the header of the desktop taskboard, a color is assigned to each swim lane status. Because any number of statuses can be included in the taskboard configuration, these colors are not hard-coded. The user account who is pushing would need access to the artifact you are referencing. Furthermore, if you push more than 30 commits at once, you will trigger jumbo push where for performance reasons only one TF commit object will be created. I'm trying to evaluate the AD Teamforge integration with our AD. I have Teamforge configured. The test succeeds (check-authentication.sh). Below the login, Teamforge says "To create an account, log in with your corporate user name and password.", so I think it knows its using "USE_EXTERNAL_USER_AUTHENTICATION=true", yet when i try to log in it fails, and network monitor shows no traffic going to the LDAP server, so it is not really trying LDAP. Can't find any indications of errors in any log. ...

Hi, It looks like TeamForge expects BDCS projects to be named as eg:- proj1071_reps1305. I ran into an issue searching from teamforge when I tried to change that name from BDCS admin page. Is there anyway I can tag something to the project name at the beginning so whoever is looking at BDCS web page knows which project the repo belongs to? Also, BDCS can categorize them alphabetically. DEDICATED_INSTALL is only present in site-options-dedicated.conf, where it is set to true, which was not the basis of either of my two installs. Hi Ted Lum httpd.conf.cn_new will be available under /etc/httpd/conf only if you configure the Teamforge in Advanced mode. In advanced mode installation, installer wont touch the apache configuration file and let users to conifgure it based on the new conf file generated [httpd.conf.cn_new]. I did find this in a FAQ "Subversion is provided as part of your TeamForge installation and is provided by the CollabNet YUM repository". So it sounds like subversion should have been installed. Suggestions for verifying it's present, configured, and functional?... considering there is no mention in the docs I have seen.

Ok, I might be on to something now. Turns out that our network admin changed the IP address of DNS server. Now JAMES is having a hard time resolving the domain name. I went into C:\Collabnet\Teamforge\app\site\runtime\james\apps\james\SAR-INF\config.xml but found out it says it's auto generated and says "DO NOT EDIT". I would guess permissions. When the Apache server is running it creates a PID file in the csvn/data/run folder. The SVN Edge console has to read this file and then see if the process is running. If the file is owned by root or something like that then it cannot do this. So maybe it has to do with how you started the Apache server, as opposed to the Edge console. IT WORKED! I basically went back to square one -- uninstalled release 3.2.2; deleted the Edge DBs; resinstalled release 1.3.3; relinked to TF. Had a few hick-ups and had to go back and forth a few times. But finally got everything back to where they were. Great suggestions and steps! Many thanks, Mark! In CTF6.2 we are installing TeamForge using yum, which takes care of installing all the Teamforge and its dependant packages. So there is no need of installing Teamforge-installer rpm separately. Installing the CTF-Disconnected-media rpm and running the yum installer will do.

There is nothing critical in the Edge DB. Losing it will be a nuisance more than anything. For example, it contains the info you see on the Edge server settings such as the hostname and port number. The biggest one for you though is the info that connects it to TeamForge. You will have to reattach again and move repositories etc. if you have to create a new DB. As I said earlier, I do not know that 3.2.2 will even work with it. It is worth doing the clean uninstall simply because you already did the "damage" of the upgrade. So it is worth seeing if this can get it to work because that would be your best option at this point. You need to set Trace level for the class you are looking for. Please add below lines after any existing tag in /opt/collabnet/teamforge/runtime/jboss/server/default/deploy/jboss-loggi ng.xml file. This does not need any service restart. By doing this, we should be about to see the trace level logs of the login module.

To install CTF 5.4 on a Linux server in disconnected mode, there were two packages that needed to be installed - Teamforge-installer and CTF_5.4_disconnected_mode packages. To install CTF 6.2 on Linux in disconnected mode, do we have to install two packages - installer and the disconnected mode packages in a similar way.Or is it only the disconnected mode package?

HI Rajesh, Appreciate your help on this. I followed your suggestion and updated the login-config.xml to use LdapExtLoginModule, but now the authentication is not working or ANY users. Unfortunately yes we are using TF for Windows. Can you provide roll-back procedures? And in the desparate attempt to solve this issue, I have tried to separate Edge from TF and re-attach it. Not realizing that now all the repos are going to one project now. Is there a way to re-link the repos to their respective projects? And am I going to get all the revision history back? Do not believe those messages would be a problem. They are interesting though because we include Python 2.7 now. Btw, if you are using TeamForge for Windows, I do not believe it works with the latest SVN Edge release. I am sure it was not certified at least. Can you please check the selinux config file at /etc/sysconfig/selinux and check whether the SELINUX token is set to value other than 'disabled'.If its so please modify the value to disabled and reboot the system. It looks like the relevant logic is inside "getPlanningFolderForArtifact" method (part of ArtifactServiceClient). Please post the contents of this method (and other methods it calls). Thank you for the example. Sadly, though, our TF admin has vetoed both ideas: my own event handlers and the shell scripts. I'll have to go back to stand-alone apps which make corrections after the fact.

I only have one item for you - and personally, I don't care about it. It appears that the hover-over target on the title doesn't change when I re-size the window. Say I can only see half of a Task's title when the Task Board initially loads and then I maximize the window. Hi Steve, I have attached an Eclipse project for hook script event handler. FWIW, adding an event handler to a machine which can execute arbitrary code has the same implications as putting a shell script run by an event handler. I would suggest you talk to the responsible TF admin again and explain him that those scripts are not executed as root and that he/she can examine the content of the hook scripts before deploying them. Hi Teresa, I presume you are talking about the projects that are being displayed in "Projects -> My Projects ->" dropdown. That dropdown only displays the projects in which you have direct membership via direct role(s). So the workaround here is to a. create a global role with necessary permissions b. now add yourself to that global role in those projects that you aren't active c. remove your direct roles from those projects. Hi Padma, The Jenkins plugin uses FileStorageApp.uploadFile file which uses a DataHandler to stream the input and upload it to the CTF instance. For files that are huge, this upload process goes past the timeout which causes this issue. I managed to get outgoing mail working by installing a new version of James. If anyone can please help me replace the old James in the start up scripts with the new one, I would appreciate it greatly. I'm sure it's not difficult, but I've been working on it for quite some time without success.

Hi, Is there a way to configure the X (Date) axis on burndown charts, or even does it auto-configure on it's own? The reason I'm asking is that I'm seeking to promote the use of the CTF Desktop for projects that follow the PRINCE2 methodology. Thus, each iteration could be 2 or 3 months long. Hi Mike, I have committed the fix after your feedback last week, but I haven't created a build with the fix yet. The popup will show whenever you hover over the entire title area. I found the "Going to call" messages in vamessages.log. Now, what do I need to do to develop my own event handlers? The exact file where you can see log messages from the event handler differ from customer to customer based on their log settings. I added the association to a tracker artifact. I don't see anything suspicious in server.log, but I’m not familiar with it. I tried looking at the blog in your first post, but I got this when I click on the link: Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname) Your requested host "blogs.collab.net" could not be resolved by DNS. For assistance, contact your network support team. I get the same thing when I type "blogs.collab.net" directly, and we can’t ping that server.
