Hi sathyan,

Sorry for my late answer, but I was pretty busy this last months.
I am afraid I don't really get what you mean about the access permission.
Who is the user who need what permissions exactly?
Do you mean the collabnet service _HAVE_ to be launched by a user whit 'read only' permission on report processes? Or something like that?

Sorry for my misunderstanding on that point.

Hi,

Are there any webservices that could be used to access the saved tracker searches and execute to get the results?

I have multiple saved searches across projects which I need to pull into a report and want to automate it so can be generated easily instead of me trying to navigate across projects and get the results manually.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have accidentally given entered caps in a username and even after deleting TeamForge won't let me create another user with lowercase. I am assuming because some part of the code is case-sensitive to usernames and some is not. I was wondering if it would be ok to overwrite the username in database sfuser table to lowercase for that particular user. Could you please let me know if you are aware of any issues that I might run into by doing that?

Is there any setting to enable selection of multiple values while filtering the artifacts in a given tracker?

We like filtering better than reports as it gives us flexibility to filter on custom fields. However, we would like to select multiple users etc while filtering.

In the header of the desktop taskboard, a color is assigned to each swim lane status. Because any number of statuses can be included in the taskboard configuration, these colors are not hard-coded. The colors are derived by gradient increments from red (left-most status) to green (right-most status). So, if you have just 3 statuses, they will be red, yellow, green. But if you have more, they will include shades in between. Two projects will use the same colors if they have the same number ...

Not really sure why it would be a desirable feature. The Task board uses
swim lanes to group the tasks by their status. So all items in each

The snippet looks ok. Have you tried running the query using the actual values?

For example:
...

filter[0] .setValue("2013-03-01 22:28:11.000 -0600");

filter[1].setValue("2013-04-01 22:28:11.000 -0600");

Once you get the query running with constants, you can debug to see why formatting is not working.

The user account who is pushing would need access to the artifact you are referencing.
Furthermore, if you push more than 30 commits at once, you will trigger jumbo push where for performance reasons only one TF commit object will be created.

If you do not see them afterwards, you would have to check gerrit.server.log for suspicious exceptions.

The following articles describe a resizing problem when UI has too many nested controls. However, in your case, the issue seems to be happing at startup (when there aren't many windows yet). So, I don't think that the problem is deeply nested windows.

I'm not sure if we can increase the keyword text box length.

However, you can narrow down the results by filtering by language.
Other option is to enclose the keyword in double quotes.

Please find few more suggestions given in the attached word document.

You can also find some 'Example Searches' on your Code Sight instance's

Hi,

It looks like TeamForge expects BDCS projects to be named as <tf projid><repo id> eg:- proj1071_reps1305. I ran into an issue searching from teamforge when I tried to change that name from BDCS admin page.

Is there anyway I can tag something to the project name at the beginning so whoever is looking at BDCS web page knows which project the repo belongs to? Also, BDCS can categorize them alphabetically. That would be useful for us.

Jeff,

Teamforge URIs can be used like any link and every object in Teamforge has it's own permalink:

    http[s]://<server.name.tld>/sf/go/<objectID>

For example, if your server uses SSL, is accessible via huillier.com and a MS Project Plan file has the document ID doc0815, the URL would be:
    https://huillier.com/sf/go/doc0815

You can easily see the object ID by looking at the content of the Jump-to text field in the upper right of almost all Teamforge pages.

Hello -

I have a group of PM's that would like to place an MS Project Master Project into a Document Folder with a number of suppporting MS Project sub-projects and be able to reference the sub-projects within the Master using the TeamForge URL to the individual documents (docXXXX)...

Has anyone tried this to know if it works?

Thanx

Also, It's possible that this in not the only issue.
Steve,

there are two points to start:

first, look up the readme in the add-on installation directory. This is usually
    /opt/collabnet/teamforge/add-ons/massImport

second, when visiting a tracker page, besides the monitor button you should now see an "import" button.
(if you have write permissions to the tracker)

Clicking on this opens the massImport Dialog which itself contains a lot of documentation.

Best regards,

Hi Ted Lum

httpd.conf.cn_new will be available under /etc/httpd/conf only if you configure the Teamforge in Advanced mode.

In advanced mode installation, installer wont touch the apache configuration file and let users to conifgure it based on the new conf file generated [httpd.conf.cn_new].

But in dedicated mode installer itself will backup the existing one and load the conf with the new one.So you could see only the two files httpd.conf and httpd.conf.cn_backup.

You should be able to run them as an Ant Build. Here are the steps.
* Open the External Tools dialog
* Specify the Base Directory (Ex:- /tmp/CTF_Examples/teamforgeExamples)
* Go to the Targets tab and choose example target to run (Ex:- build, example1)

Now it can be run as an Ant Build.

Hi,

SFEE 4.4 is very old as it was released around 2007.
It evolved a lot and tons of changes were happened in the product.

Today, it is as CollabNet TeamForge 6.2

The migration will be step by step, from 4.4 to CTF 6.2 via all the intermediate versions.

For each project, TeamForge creates a remote 'publishing' repository to
manage project related pages/contents.

In your case, your are trying to access a project, in background
TeamForge tries to get the project contents from publishing repository.
But there might be some problem with your subversion integration server

Please check the 'Publishing' repository in that project.

Hi

I am a user of TeamForge 6.2 and I was wondering whether I can use JSP templates as described on http://www.jspwiki.org/wiki/JSPWikiTemplates?

Also, it would be great if JSP templates could be included in TeamForge project templates, so that users of the same organisation can be given a quick start.

Can anybody indicate if that is possible?

Thanks in advance.

Take care,

huachun,

This is what we do internally to place the dns server ip's in james config.xml

>>
cat /etc/resolv.conf | grep -v '^#' | grep nameserver | awk '{ print "<server>\^C$2 \"</server>\"; }'
<<

You can edit the /etc/resolv.conf for right dns ip, and then do a CTF runtime recreate, which will resolve this.

Thanks,

I went into C:\Collabnet\Teamforge\app\site\runtime\james\apps\james\SAR-INF\config.xml but found out it says it's auto generated and says "DO NOT EDIT".
Hi John,

The TeamForge has 30 days trial period.
You have to purchase license to make it writeable after 30 days.

We dont provide any community license.

Even you can try a 30 day hosted instance of teamforge

Hi.
I attach 2 files.
one is after post-review command = output.txt
other is .post-review-cookies.txt

what's the meaning?
--> Is there any chance that you have the same server name pointing to a different machine?

1 repository url use team(15~20).
so personal pc pointing same server url.

※ I have trouble..
I use post-review commnad & use svn propset reviewboard:url ... .
Whenever I request review, first delete .post-review-cookies.txt and re write id and password.
Very uncomfortable.

I would refer to the docs to what you can do:

http://help.collab.net/topic/teamforge620/action/trackers-creatingandconfig
uringatracker.html

The workflow is fairly simple, such as only a user that belongs to "Role
X" can change the status from A to B. Or when status is changed from A to
B, this other field X must have a value specified etc.

None of the workflow is specifically tied to Subversion in any way I can
think of.

A Tracker is something like a "Defect" or "User Story" or "Test Case",
whatever you want it to be. You create the tracker and have control over
the fields that make up the tracker, the field layout, rules etc.
Basically it is a customizable Issue Tracker. A project can have as many
different trackers as you need. An agile project, as an example, might
have different Trackers for Epics, Stories, Tasks and Defects.

An artifact is one of the items within a tracker. So a specific defect or

Well in fact I would actually say "tracker" and not artifact. But, reading your answer, I am realizing I am not really confident with the notion of artifacts, trackers, and tasks notions. Maybe you can correct me, if I'm wrong:

°) A tracker is the medium to follow the artifact's activity.
°) An artifact could be anything (code, documentation, bugs or test result potentially related with integrated others tools.
°) A task is ... a task. Let's say it's a descr...

I know (or I think I know) the next release of teamforge will include securelinux options for installation stage.
But is there now, an official way to configure iptables for a nice and smooth TeamForge run over CentOS 6.3?
I mean I had to add this rule to my INPUT table:
"iptables -I INPUT -s <my remote http firefox browser ip> -j ACCEPT".
Not big deal, but I was wondering whether I have missed something during installation process.

I would guess permissions. When the Apache server is running it creates a
PID file in the csvn/data/run folder. The SVN Edge console has to read
this file and then see if the process is running. If the file is owned by
root or something like that then it cannot do this.

So maybe it has to do with how you started the Apache server, as opposed
to the Edge console. Normally, they are both running as the same regular
user account.

I basically went back to square one -- uninstalled release 3.2.2; deleted the Edge DBs; resinstalled release 1.3.3; relinked to TF. Had a few hick-ups and had to go back and forth a few times. But finally got everything back to where they were. Great suggestions and steps! Many thanks, Mark!

In CTF6.2 we are installing TeamForge using yum, which takes care of installing all the Teamforge and its dependant packages. So there is no need of installing Teamforge-installer rpm separately.
Installing the CTF-Disconnected-media rpm and running the yum installer will do.

There is nothing critical in the Edge DB. Losing it will be a nuisance more than anything. For example, it contains the info you see on the Edge server settings such as the hostname and port number. The biggest one for you though is the info that connects it to TeamForge. You will have to reattach again and move repositories etc. if you have to create a new DB.

BTW, if you have to create a new DB, what you do is stop the Edge service. Then delete or move to a temp folder the files in th...

Ok. In short -- it didn't work out. So I guess I'd like to move on to your next suggestions.

Couple of questions:
1. What does Edge DB contain? If it only contains "x commits this week" etc., didn't I already lose it by dettaching/reattaching to TeamForge. I have no problem doing that as long as I retain SVN commit history.
2. We've made progress since yesterday -- now I can browse to the repos in TF (as opposed to yesterday I couldn't). What does that tell us? TF is able to find the repo?

As I said earlier, I do not know that 3.2.2 will even work with it. It is worth doing the clean uninstall simply because you already did the "damage" of the upgrade. So it is worth seeing if this can get it to work because that would be your best option at this point.

If it does not work, then you need to move on to the other things I suggested which was to see if you could uninstall then install the old version. Again, do not know if that will work first time either because the database it ...

And in the desparate attempt to solve this issue, I have tried to separate Edge from TF and re-attach it. Not realizing that now all the repos are going to one project now. Is there a way to re-link the repos to their respective projects? And am I going to get all the revision history back?

Btw, if you are using TeamForge for Windows, I do not believe it works with the latest SVN Edge release. I am sure it was not certified at least.

You need to be using LdapExtLoginModule instead of LdapLoginModule to achieve this.
LdapExtLoginModule allows us to use baseFilter and roleFilter in combination to achieve this.

Refer https://community.jboss.org/wiki/LdapExtLoginModule.
Example:

<login-module code="org.jboss.security.auth.spi.LdapExtLoginModule" flag="sufficient">

Can you try using %20 in place of the space character?

For example, http://<Host_machine_name>/repos/TestRepo/src%20space%20test, where the code location name is 'src space test'.

Thanks,

Seriously? And if your firewall is blocking a port do you just disable the whole firewall too?

The problem isn't SELinux. The problem is the security context on mod_pagespeed.so.

$ ls -Z mod_pagespeed.so
-rw-r--r--. root root unconfined_u:object_r:usr_t:s0 mod_pagespeed.so

The security context is usr_t. By design httpd can't access usr_t. If you want httpd to access the file the security context needs to be httpd_sys_content_t.

The audit log pretty much spells it out:

Hi,

In Project Home we have several componets with "Tracker Search Results", it is very useful, but we would like to add extra columns to defaults ones:

- Priority
- Artifact ID
- Title
- Assigned To
- Submitted By
- Status
- Category

Is it possible? We can view the columns clickin on "View All", but it would be more quick to have the columns directly in Project Home Component.

Thanks in advance,
Daniel Ordiales

Hi Christopher Ryan,

We don't have CTF-windows installer available now and we would be coming
up with a new road-map for supporting CTF on windows soon.

If you are looking for evaluating CTF, you can download CTF VMware
version (which includes GIT) from
http://www.collab.net/downloads/teamforge

Thanks,
Anand

Are you using a custom SOAP client library, or is ArtifactServiceClient just a wrapper around standard SDK?

Hi Steve,

I have attached an Eclipse project for hook script event handler. FWIW, adding an event handler to a machine which can execute arbitrary code has the same implications as putting a shell script run by an event handler. I would suggest you talk to the responsible TF admin again and explain him that those scripts are not executed as root and that he/she can examine the content of the hook scripts before deploying them.

Best, Johannes

Hi Teresa,

I presume you are talking about the projects that are being displayed in "Projects -> My Projects ->" dropdown. That dropdown only displays the projects in which you have direct membership via direct role(s).

So the workaround here is to

a. create a global role with necessary permissions
b. now add yourself to that global role in those projects that you aren't active
c. remove your direct roles from those projects.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

The Jenkins plugin uses FileStorageApp.uploadFile file which uses a

Hi,

Is there a way to configure the X (Date) axis on burndown charts, or even does it auto-configure on it's own?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm seeking to promote the use of the CTF Desktop for projects that follow the PRINCE2 methodology. Thus, each iteration could be 2 or 3 months long. The concern raised by a stakeholder yesterday was that the X-axis could become unreadable or it would have to be a very wide view with 60+ data points on it.

Thanks,

I have committed the fix after your feedback last week, but I haven't created a build with the fix yet.

The popup will show whenever you hover over the entire title area. This should take care of the width limitation problem you have seen.

I will look into keeping the popup open until cursor moves out of title area before posting a new build.

Hi Steve,

The beauty of the hook script event handler is that you do not have to write any Java code (but just shell scripts or any other language) to intercept/react on events.
For example, if you now place an executable file, accessible by sf-admin as /opt/collabnet/teamforge/hooks/asynchronous/document_update

With the following content:

#!/bin/sh
set > /tmp/hook_output_documents

and update a document, you can see all environment variables (check for the ones with tf_) passed to it in /tm...

I found the "Going to call" messages in vamessages.log.

Now, what do I need to do to develop my own event handlers? When I created a new Java project in Eclipse and copied in SynchronousHookScriptEventListener.java from the hooks.jar file, there were numerous build errors. What do I need to add to my Java project in Eclipse to be able to modify the event handler? Or perhaps I should be using something other than Eclipse.

Hi Steve,

If you are uploading event handlers over the TF Web UI you do not have to care about event handler cache refresh.
The exact file where you can see log messages from the event handler differ from customer to customer based on their log settings.
I checked my inbox and found one customer example where those messages appeared in vamessages.log
You may want to grep this file and any other file in the logs/apps/ folder for "Going to call"

What you may also try is to create an executable...

Johannes,

I’m not getting things to work. I deployed the hooks.jar file to TeamForge by logging in as an administrator, clicking on System Tools, and using the Custom Events Handlers link. From the PDF file you attached for me, I understand that if I “interact with TeamForge” I would see a list of “Going to call ...” messages on server.log. I added an artifact and updated it, but didn’t find anything there. The PDF says I would need to refresh the event handling cache; in looking for direc...

Hello Steve -

I've had good luck modifying the content_footer.vm file found in the branding bundle to do things on TeamForge pages...

For example: A few of my projects wanted to have the prefix of the Tracker Name pre-populated into a new Artifact Title so that by reading the Title of an Artifact, they would know if it was a STORY: TASK: SPIKE: EPIC: ... you the idea...

Using the Velocity Templates (syntax) and some jquery code, I was able to pre-populate the Title of a ...

Strange, I attached the blog post as PDF.
The referenced custom hook script can be downloaded from the same project as the associationconverter and should also be referenced from HCN.

I added the association to a tracker artifact. I don't see anything suspicious in server.log, but I’m not familiar with it. I tried looking at the blog in your first post, but I got this when I click on the link:

Network Error (dns_unresolved_hostname)
Your requested host "blogs.collab.net" could not be resolved by DNS.
For assistance, contact your network support team.

I get the same thing when I type "blogs.collab.net" directly, and we can’t ping that server.

Did you add the association to a tracker artifact or a document? Anything suspicious in TF server.log?

You should really try accessing the blog post in my first response again as I was more referring to the custom hook event handler.
